CMC New Music Marathon 2010

A short video featuring highlights from the Contemporary Music Centre's New Music Marathon, an annual showcase event of student composers' work which took place on 23 April 2010 in the University of Limerick.

The Contemporary Music Centre's annual New Music Marathon took place in the Irish Chamber Orchestra Studio at the Digital Media and Arts Research Centre, University of Limerick on Friday 23 April 2010.

The day-long event, which was programmed by composer Jürgen Simpson of the University of Limerick, presented performances of new compositions from undergraduate and postgraduate student composers and performers from Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, the University of Limerick, Queen's University Belfast, the University of Ulster, NUI Maynooth and others.

CMC's New Music Marathons have been held each year since 2006 in cooperation with a number of university music departments and colleges. The events enable the colleges to showcase the work of their student composers and also provide an important networking opportunity for each of the composers who participate in the day to meet with their counterparts from other colleges.
