In this Sparky Conversation, violinist Jane Hackett will discuss her multi-layered journey with the violin and her focus for driving increased access in classical and contemporary music settings since her diagnosis of FND - Functional Neurological Disorder.

This chat aims to be a relaxed, supportive conversation with space for you to take breaks if you wish, share stories and participate from the comfort of your own space - whether that's sofa, bed or anywhere. 

About Jane

Jane Hackett is a Dublin based violinist who is curious about accessible creativity. Her career to date includes orchestral, solo and chamber concerts with the RTE and National Symphony Orchestras, Irish National Opera, at the Carthage International Music Festival, WienModern Festival Vienna, Kilkenny Arts Festival, Zeitgeist Irlande and contemporary performances at Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Sound Festival Scotland, New Music Dublin, TAKT KonzertSerien Vienna, the Appalachian Chamber Festival and Musiques Démesurées Festival. Jane is a long standing member of experimental music group, Kirkos Ensemble and chamber collective, Musici Ireland. Her recent work encompasses community engagement and accessible development within classical and contemporary music settings, working with d/Deaf and neurodivergent audiences.
