Founded in 1997, the Amstel Quartet is a versatile and passionate Dutch saxophone quartet that pushes boundaries in the music world. This chameleonic ensemble, consisting of four talented saxophonists, is known for their ability to effortlessly switch between different musical genres, from classical to jazz and from world music to contemporary compositions. On Saturday March 15th they will play their program called Maestra - celebration of female creativity through the ages with an astonishingly wide range of styles: madrigals from the Renaissance and lush romanticism alongside rhythmic minimalism and popular music influences.
