Sing Ireland: Irish Youth Choir (18 - 28 year olds) presents 'The Elements'

Internationally acclaimed conductor Bernie Sherlock concludes her five years at the helm of the Irish Youth Choir with 'The Elements', a concert presenting brilliant words and music all inspired by nature. Featuring Ireland's best young adult singers (aged 18-28), the IYC will offer the audience breathtakingly imaginative musical responses to fire and water, earth and sun, wind and ocean.
The programme spans the centuries, ranging from the very newest music – including four exciting Irish premieres – and all the way back to the Renaissance and to Brahms and the Romantic obsession with nature – and 'Singin' in the Rain' and 'Here Comes the Sun' along the way.
To cap it all the audience will be treated to the world premiere of CMC Emerging Composer Caterina Schembri's 'A Long Hall' . Co-commissioned by Sing Ireland and the Contemporary Music Centre, the work is inspired by a famous passage from Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
