New Ross Piano Festival: Friday Evening Concert featuring Marian Ingoldsby & François Vallières' 'Dunbrody Suite' (Irish Premiere)

The New Ross Piano Festival Friday evening concert features artists Finghin Collins, Yumeka Nakagawa, Yevgeny Sudbin, Mirijam Contzen, Meagan Milatz & Alexander Chaushian. The programme includes the Irish premiere of The Dunbrody Suite by CMC Composer Marian Ingoldsby and Canadian composer François Vallières. 

The Dunbrody Suite

This will be the Irish premiere of two newly commissioned works inspired by the Dunbrody Famine Ship in New Ross. These commissions are a collaboration between Le Domaine Forget festival, near Quebec in Canada and the New Ross Festival in Wexford. The original Dunbrody was built in Quebec, and Irish emigrants were mostly landed at Grosse Isle, near there also. The Canadian festival commissioned Francois Vallieres to write their piece, and the New Ross festival commissioned CMC Composer Marian Ingoldsby for the Irish piece. Both works will be performed at both festivals. Finghin Collins performs the work by Marian Ingoldsby and Canadian pianist, Meagan Milatz performs the Canadian piece.
