Sounding the Feminists and the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland launch Uneven Score: An Assessment of the Gender Balance for Publicly Funded Composer Opportunities on the Island of Ireland 2004-2019, researched and written by Dr Michael Lydon. Uneven Score was commissioned by the Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) and Sounding the Feminists (STF) as part of a two-phase research project supported by the Arts Council of Ireland/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. This report serves to document gender within contemporary music composition between 2004-19 and presents an assessment of the gender balance of publicly funded composer opportunities on the island of Ireland.
The launch of Uneven Score will include an introduction and overview of the report by Dr Michael Lydon with an opportunity for questions and further discussion.
