Body & Soul celebrates the unique sound-world of contemporary works for period instruments in a programme bridging time periods and diverse cultures. Featuring Baroque violin, viola da gamba, harpsichord, and percussion, this lunchtime concert invites the listener on a musical voyage in which the past inspires the present, and the present illuminates the past, creating a continuum of sound and movement that is current and transformative. Body & Soul features Irish and world premieres of works by living composers from Ireland and around the globe—Tal Arbel, Will Ayton, Brooke Green, Justin Grounds, Samuel Howley, Fiona Linnane, and Oscar Tysoe. This programme is curated by harpsichordist Yonit Kosovske, who gratefully acknowledges her Arts Council of Ireland Music Bursary Award (2022) supporting her exploration of New Music for Harpsichord as a solo and collaborative instrument.
