The String Chamber Orchestra features musicians of all ages and levels including amateurs, students, semi professionals, all led by professional players.
Based at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny, every Summer the chamber orchestra goes to play in different locations on the isle of Ireland.
One of the Donegal Music Education Partnership’s performing groups, features classical string players from across the Northwest. It is dedicated to helping students and amateur musicians achieve the highest level of excellence in performance.
The Donegal Chamber Orchestra gives regular performances throughout the county during the year. The Donegal Chamber Orchestra features guest conductors, guest sectional coaches, master classes, workshops and chamber music camps offered by local, national and internationally recognized professional musicians.
The Orchestra was founded in 2006 by Hungarian violinist Orsolya Szabó-Yélamo (violin resource tutor with Donegal Music Education Partnership) and Spanish cellist Víctor Yélamo (Artistic Director of the Ensemble).
