RAMP presents Landless: collective singing and sound-making workshop

8 July 2023 11:00

RAMP -  Rathmullan Music Project - are delighted to announce a programme of workshops supported by the Contemporary Music Centre. These workshops are designed for musicians and non-musicians alike to explore experimental music practices, including improvisation, sound-making and mindful awareness.

Workshop 1: Saturday 8th July, 11am: Landless

Drawing on experimental, improvisational as well as traditional music practices, Landless will guide workshop participants through a session of collective singing and sound-making based on attentive in-situ listening and tuning in.

Landless is an A-Cappella quartet made of Ruth Clinton, Meabh Meir, Sinead Lynch and Lily Power, singing Irish, Scottish, English and American traditional songs in close four part harmony since 2013. Their repertoire features songs of love, death, lamentation as well as more recently penned folk songs. They perform in a variety of settings, both in Ireland and abroad, as part of singing circles, folk groups, fundraisers, historical commemorations, residencies, cultural celebration events, group performance events and festivals. They released a self-titled EP in 2014, their first album ‘Bleaching Bones’ in 2018, and their second album is due for release later this year in 2023.
