QUINDECIM: Maya Homburger and Barry Guy
MoLi - Museum of Modern Literature

In this specially curated programme, Maya Homburger (violin) and CMC Composer Barry Guy (double bass) explore music from the ninth century to the present day. Featuring works by J.S. Bach, H.I.F. Biber and György Kurtág, the programme is built around Barry Guy’s own composition Quindecim, a series of miniatures inspired by the Swiss artist Max Bill and readings of poetry by Samuel Beckett. Since they met on tour with the Academy of Ancient Music in 1988 and began working closely together, Swiss-born baroque violinist Maya Homburger and Barry Guy have been bringing their musical interests – and practice – closer together. Once kept distinct and separate, they are now allowed to spur each other, to alternate, or intermingle.
