Cór Linn and Cór na nÓg – the youth choirs of the National Concert Hall – return to the main stage for this poignant yet uplifting concert of works by Craig Hella Johnson and Elaine Agnew. Performed here in its Irish premiere, Craig Hella Johnson’s 'Considering Matthew Shepard' was composed to celebrate the life of a young man cut short by hate and violence. Drawing on a wide range of styles and poetic texts, including passages from Matt’s personal journal, it is a soulful work of hope and forgiveness. Paired with Elaine Agnew’s heartfelt short pieces 'We Are What Gives Us Strength', this promises to be a thoughtful and optimistic performance showcasing the very best of youth music-making.
