Quasars Ensemble: Ivan Buffa – conductor; Eric Lamb – flute; Jozef Eliáš – clarinet; Diana Buffa – piano; Irena Manolova – percussion; Peter Mosorjak – violin; Ján Bogdan – cello.

A truly international ensemble, Quasars perform the works of present-day composers such as Bent Sørensen, Michael Jarrell, Kaija Saariaho, Toshio Hosokawa and Tristan Murail.

This programme will include works by Greg Caffrey (Ireland), Michael Jarrell (Switzerland), Bohdana Frolyak (Ukraine) and Ivan Buffa (Quasars director) along with other Slovak composers.

The group are welcomed to Belfast for the very first time, a special event which has been made possible with support from the Slovak Arts Council and Music Fund Slovakia.

For this performance, Quasars will be a 7-piece ensemble featuring flute, clarinet, piano, percussion, violin, cello, and conductor.

Presented by Music at Queen’s and Moving On Music, in partnership with Hard Rain SoloistEnsemble.
