NSQF present Solas Quartet featuring music by John Kinsella (Tour)

9 November 2022 20:00 - 13 November 2022 15:00

The Solas Quartet are: Katherine Hunka, violin; Marja Gaynor, violin; Cian Ó Dúill, viola; Aoife Nic Athlaoich, cello.

The Solas Quartet first performed as the 2020 Quartet in online concerts during that autumn’s lockdown. Led by Irish Chamber Orchestra leader Katherine Hunka, they perform a varied programme reflecting the wide-ranging musical talents and specialities of the quartet’s members, featuring John Kinsella's 'A Reeling Rhapsody’ for two violins.

For the second half of the concert they are joined by Cork violist Ed Creedon for Mendelssohn’s B flat string quintet.

The National String Quartet Foundation's autumn season is supported by the Arts Council and RTE Lyric FM. Concerts in County Cork are supported by Cork County Council.
