Mladenovic-Wilson Duo @ Portico

Dušica Mladenovic, violin & Ian Wilson, piano.

As a duo, Dušica and Ian explore a wide range of music from  Schubert and Erik Satie to more contemporary work by the likes of Arvo Pärt and Wilson himself. Their musical collaboration began more than 10 years ago when Ian composed a new work for Dušica’s violin trio and since then they have collaborated on a number of premieres and CD recordings. One such collaboration was the world premiere of ‘Socrates Ungraved’, Ian’s reworking of Erik Satie’s ‘Socrate’ into a work for violin and orchestra which Dušica premiered with the Belgrade Philharmonic in 2018. Dušica and Ian are delighted to be presenting the first performances in Ireland of a new version of ‘Socrates Ungraved’ for violin and piano.
