About Piandemia

Piandemia is a group of international doctoral students and alumni from the piano studio of Dr. Tali Morgulis at the Moores School of Music, University of Houston. At the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Piandemia Project was born. As it was impossible for travel, they reconnected with their roots by embarking on a homeward journey through music. The original Piandemia series consisted of short musical videos each including an introductory note and performance of a piano piece written by a composer from the featured performer’s country of origin. Each exemplary piano work by a fellow countryman uniquely encapsulates certain aspects of our respective cultures. The Piandemia Artistic Director Dr. Tali Morgulis, and the Piandemia pianists welcome you to this special performance.
