Culture Night 2020 - CMC presents Ensemble in Residence for 2020/21 Kirkos Ensemble

CMC presents an evening of discussion and online features about its Ensemble in Residence for 2020/21 - Kirkos Ensemble, and the development of the Composer Hub project.

Hosted by CMC Director, Evonne Ferguson, the event features an interview with Kirkos Artistic Director, Sebastian Adams as well as a discussion with some of the mentor composers involved in the Composer Hub project.

Composer Hub was devised in partnership with Kirkos Ensemble as part of CMC’s Ensemble-in-Residence. Each composer participating in this project is being mentored by an established CMC composer requested by them, including Ann Cleare, Donnacha Dennehy, Deirdre Gribbin, Karen Power and Jennifer Walshe.

The event also features contributions from participating composers in the Composer Hub project - Susan Geaney, Darragh Kelly, Áine Mallon, Ultan O’Brien and Seán Ó Dálaigh - along with rehearsal footage filmed during a series of workshops with Kirkos Ensemble at Dance House, Dublin in late August / early September.

CMC’s Ensemble-in-Residence is an initiative supported by the Dublin City Council Arts Grants. Kirkos Ensemble is in receipt of an Arts Grant from the Arts Council of Ireland for this Ensemble-in-Residence project, and its participation in the Composer Hub project is also supported by IMRO Ireland.
