The Arctic and rainforest of the Amazon are two of the most divergent regions in the world. Field Recordings, which Karen Power recorded there, form the basis for voices of hidden places , an immersive music theater installation in which the visitor moves on an individual research journey through different spaces. Each of these rooms has a sphere of its own sounds. The play of the musicians is linked via loudspeakers. Not only do both spheres interact with each other and influence each other, the visitor also changes their visit and experiences their effects.
The ensemble mosaik repeatedly explores the interdisciplinary field between hearing and seeing in its programs. voices of hidden places is his second collaboration with the Irish composer Karen Power, who integrates not only everyday and environmental sounds but also media such as video, dance and sculpture in her projects.
