A live performance by Quiet Music Ensemble - employing their unique skills as improvisors, listeners and interpreters, to create a musical dialogue with Karen Power’s composition of live recordings of bees, plants and their surrounding habitats in Offaly. A synthesis between music and nature’s pollinators.
sonic pollinators invites you to come, listen and re-hear your own every day environment both the natural and humanly created pollinator environments. In 2017, composer, Karen Powermade multiple visits to Offaly to listen and make full frequency recordings of bees, plants and their surrounding habitats. Performing at the centre of this large-scale composition is Ireland’s Quiet Music Ensemble, who will employ their unique skills as improvisors, listeners + interpreters as they shift between notated, graphic and aural materials to create musical dialogues that seamlessly meander between music and nature’s pollinators.
