Jerome de Bromhead

(b. 1945)

Jerome de Bromhead was born in Waterford and studied at various periods with A.J. Potter, James Wilson, Seóirse Bodley and Franco Donatoni. His output includes orchestral, choral and chamber music. He has had works performed and broadcast in many countries around the world, particularly under the aegis of such bodies as The International Society for Contemporary Music and the UNESCO International Rostrum of Composers. He has been called a 'reformed' serialist, and he himself describes most of his recent music as 'living on the edge of tonality'.
