This is my will cover

This is my will

'..wonderful, heavenly, as good as any international recording I have heard in recent years' (The Irish Examiner). The Irish Youth Choir, conducted by Geoffrey Spratt with soloist Helen Hassett, Bridget Knowles and Robert Craig, sing sacred choral music by Angel Climent. The music recorded on this CD is representative of some forty years of creative activity. Although Angel Climent has written a Cello Concerto and a considerable amount of instrumental chamber music, his principal output has been of sacred choral music specifically written to enhance worship.

Dividuality cover

Dividuality

‘To take music which is already teeming with detail and alive with entanglement as Parker and Guy's has always been and augment it with the variegated layers added by Casserley may seem absurd or unnecessary, but this Dividuality creates something new and compelling (Declan O'Driscoll, Solaris, 2001)'. This CD features the work and performance of Barry Guy on chamber double bass, Evan Parker on soprano saxophone and Lawrence Casserley using live electronics and sound processing.

Straight Lines

Ian Wilson

The Amstel Saxophone Quartet’s compilation of contemporary European compositions includes Ian Wilson’s So Softly (1992). The directness of communication is clearly represented in the piece, about which the composer wrote ‘Cast in four sections, the rhythm of the outer tones has the rise and fall of breathing. The piece itself is mostly gentle, almost like a lullaby, with a sense of appearing from, and disappearing into nothingness.’
