UCD Parity Studios and UCD Ad Astra Academy - Call for Proposals
UCD Parity Studios and UCD Ad Astra Academy for the Performing Arts are seeking proposals to compose music for piano 4-hands to accompany a video art project (6–8 minutes). The piece will be performed by Music Scholars from the UCD Ad Astra Academy during recitals at the UCDCollege of Science in Autumn 2017 and at a Dublin city centre venue in Spring 2018. Provisionally entitled Demonstrable Progress, this new project will explore the decommissioning of the Sellafield Nuclear site across the Irish Sea on the coast of Cumbria, UK. The music will also be recorded for future use in gallery and museum exhibitions. The composer will work alongside visual artist Brian Duggan, an Associate Artist in Residence at UCD Parity Studios, UCD College of Science.
Expressions of interest, including CV/biography, and brief samples of recent work (in score and audio format) should be sent to the Music Director of the Ad Astra Academy (email firstname.lastname@example.org) by Monday 7th August. The commission fee will be in line with CMC/AIC Commission Guidelines. The composer shall retain copyright ownership of the score. The successful candidate shall be notified in mid-August.
