Opportunity for Musicians
Fingal County Council is inviting expressions of interest from Musicians who wish to be included on our Musicians’ Panel, with a view to delivering high quality music lessons to children in primary schools during the academic year 2019 – 2020.
Musicians will be matched with primary schools to delivery lessons within Fingal’s Musician-in-Residence Programme. The purpose of the Musician-in-Residence Programme is to enhance the music education children receive through the school curriculum. It supports schools to deliver instrumental or choral tuition, and assists class teachers build their capacity for music teaching.
The Role of the Musician
The programme adopts a musician-in-residence model, whereby the musician will visit the school to deliver music lessons to a group of children identified by the school. The musician will:
• Build a working relationship with the school
• Advise the school at the planning stage
• Design a proposal at the planning stage
• Deliver the lessons at implementation stage
• Review and report upon project completion
Participating Schools
A public call for Fingal primary schools to apply for partnership support to deliver a new music project, or develop an existing project has been circulated throughout Fingal.  Participating schools will be selected in March.
Duration & Funding
The duration and implementation plan will be directed by the musician, the school and the funding available.
Musicians can select to be matched with more than one school if they are available to commit to multiple schools in the 2019/2020 academic year within their application. See application Guidelines for more information.
