2020 Leipzig Ensemble Festival For Contemporary Music-International Composition Competition
Between 19 and 22 November 2020 in Leipzig, a city steeped in music history, the 2020 Ensemble Festival for Contemporary Music is bringing together distinguished ensembles from Japan, China, Russia and Germany.
More than 20 world premieres and European premieres will be featured on a program that explores the international trends of contemporary music.
The festival is also aimed at up-and-coming artists. In collaboration with the participating ensembles, Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble [Russia], Ensemble ConTempo Beijing [China], Ensemble Musikfabrik [Germany], Ensemble NOMAD [Japan], and Tempus Konnex [Germany], master classes will be held for instrumentalists and composers, as well as lectures and workshops.
International Composition Competition
The organizers, the Forum Zeitgenössischer Musik Leipzig [FZML] in cooperation with the ensemble Tempus Konnex, are holding an international composition competition. A jury will give out three awards in prize money totaling €3,800. In addition, the prominent music-publishing house Edition Peters will publish the first prizewinner’s work.
