How Aria? - First Fornightly Festival in collaboration with Irish National Opera featuring a World premiere from Amanda Feery

Composer Amanda Feery and poet Stephen James Smith worked with service users of St Patrick’s Mental Health Services as part of How Aria?, a new community and outreach initiative to be premiered as part of First Fortnight Festival in collaboration with Irish National Opera.

The project has seen service users of St Patrick’s collaborate with Amanda and Stephen to create the text for a new concert aria, As above, so below  which will have its world premiere in St Patrick’s University Hospital during the festival.

The event will also include a discussion around the process of the piece’s composition as well as a performance of Goldbeater's Skin by Christopher Cerrone.

The performance will feature singers Bríd Ní Ghruagáin (mezzo-soprano) and Dominica Williams (soprano) accompanied by the Bangers and Crash Percussion Group.

This performance is generously supported by Irish National Opera’s ABL Aviation Opera Studio.
