Crash Ensemble returns to Kilkenny for a series of free pop-up concerts in the atmospheric courtyard of Rothe House. Led by the indomitable Kate Ellis, the ensemble performs a selection of works at 1.30, 2.30 and 3.30pm, including the Irish premiere of a major new piece by Northern Irish composer Ed Bennett, a thrillingly modern work for cello, electronics and amplified ensemble inspired by the traditional air Amhrán na Leabhar or ‘Song of the Books’.
