Kaleidoscope featuring Gráinne Mulvey CD single launch
Bello Bar
For the 3rd chapter of the Kaleidoscope 2018/2019 season, the series meditates on the embrace of the winter season.
The night will hail the launch of a new cd single release on the Metier label by composers Grainne Mulvey and Christopher Fox. Both composers have had their work presented at Kaleidoscope previously by the wonderful soprano Elizabeth Hilliard. The cd features an electronic work by each composer, both written in 2017 and we will hear excerpts of these works with introductions by the composers. Mulvey’s Aeolus was created to compliment an installation sculpture Spatial Reverberation by Mark Garry and refers to the Aeolus keeper of the winds in Homer’s Odyssey, while Fox’s untouch is the first of a two- part work for Thai gong percussion and electronic reconfiguring of those gong sounds.
