The composer Vincent Kennedy came to Donegal in 2007 when he won a commission to write music as part of the Peace process. The following year he was invited back to the Donegal Summer School of Music and during this was invited to become the conductor of the County Donegal Youth Orchestra. Since then he has spent over 365 days directing and creating music in Donegal and working with the young musicians of the county and being part of beautiful concerts throughout the county and beyond.

Vincent Kennedy is presenting this concert as a wonderful celebration and it features some of the iconic music he has composed during his time in Donegal. This includes The Winds of Change (2007), Where the North Wind Blows (2011), the award winning The Happy Prince (2012) with Little John Nee and IRISHMEN and IRISHWOMEN (2016).

Presented by Vincent Kennedy with grateful thanks to the DMEP and all who have been involved in supporting Vincent during his time in Donegal.
