Saluting the Feminists

Saluting the Feminists, the Academy’s day-long celebration of women composers, performers and pedagogues, returns on March 28th. Once again, the performance of an opera by a leading female composer, on this occasion Judith Weir’s Scipio’s Dream, affords the Academy an opportunity to highlight the legacy of some of its key female pedagogues and salute a strong army of female composers and performers. On March 28th, the Academy proudly presents a series of fringe events comprising performances, talks and panel discussions highlighting the extraordinary impact women have had and continue to have on Irish musical life.
