Gerald Barry’s third opera is based on a movie by cult German director Rainer Werner Fassbinder, and tells the story of a famous fashion designer whose marriages have ended in death and divorce. This studio recording was produced from the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra’s concert premiere of the opera in May 2005 in Dublin, which preceded the staged premiere by English National Opera in September 2005.
