The Contemporary Music Centre presents an outdoor choral event

The Contemporary Music Centre presents a FREE outdoor performance of choral music following this year's Handel's Messiah organised by Temple Bar Cultural Trust, Saturday, 13 April 2013.
Immediately after the Messiah performance on Fishamble Street by Our Lady's Choral Society, conducted by Proinnsias O'Duinn, there will be a surprise outdoor choral performance around the corner on Essex Street, featuring a selection of works from Choirland: An Anthology of Irish Choral Music. Members of the Dublin Institute of Technology Chamber Choir alongside members of the National Chamber Choir and Irish Youth Chamber Choir, conducted by David Brophy, will perform contemporary choral works by Irish composers.
Choirland: An Anthology of Irish Choral Music is a collection of 15 works by Irish composers for an unaccompanied mixed choir. Published by the Contemporary Music Centre (CMC), the collection has been produced in partnership with the Association of Irish Choirs (AOIC) and the National Chamber Choir of Ireland (NCC) with funding from The Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. It is available to purchase via the CMC shop on www.cmc.ie and directly by calling into CMCs premises in Fishamble Street.
The Contemporary Music Centre is Ireland's national archive and resource centre for new music. The Centre is supported by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon. The Centre would like to thank Temple Bar Cultural Trust for their support in making this event happen.
