The Contemporary Music Centre presents a pre-show composer discussion as part of Crash Ensemble's Free State 7 concert, 5 April 2012

The Contemporary Music Centre presents a pre-show discussion with 5 of the 10 Free State 7 featured composers and the Free State 7 curator prior to the concert in the National Concert Hall, 5 April 2012. The pre-show discussion begins at 630pm and admission is free. The Free State 7 concert begins at 730pm.

Evonne Ferguson, Director, The Contemporary Music Centre will host the discussion which includes composers Alex Dowling, Jonathan Nangle, Emma O'Halloran, Enda Bates and Garret Sholdice, with guest curator Andrew Hamilton.

Free State is Crash Ensemble's annual concert of up-and-coming compsers. Composers are selected through an open submission process with the Crash Ensemble curating the programme, alongside a guest curator.

Free State 7 is co-produced by the National Concert Hall and following on from the successful pre-show discussion introduced in 2011 the Contemproary Music Centre is involved once again.

The Contemporary Music is also releasing interviews with all 10 composers, via audioboo, in the run up to the pre-show discussion and concert. These composer interviews are to be found at regular intervals on the Centre's web site homepage at www.cmc.ie
