For Immediate ReleaseThe Contemporary Music Centre and the Irish Composers' Collective present second Nights of New Music9 March 2011 The Contemporary Music Centre and the Irish Composers' Collective join forces to present a second Night of New Music in the Kevin Barry Room of the National Concert Hall, 30 March 2011. Following on from the highly successful first Night of New Music, 23 February 2011, this second night begins again with The Contemporary Music Centre' new music::new Ireland salon series, followed by the Irish Composers' Collective monthly concert, with a special offer on wine and tapas in the National Concert Hall during the break. The Contemporary Music Centre' new music::new Ireland salon, 6pm - 7pm, 30 March features pianist Thérèse Fahy performing works by Ian Wilson, Ed Bennett and Frank Corcoran. These works are from her concert programme entitled inter-changes: the first decade of Irish piano music in the 21st century, which is a collaboration between the Fulbright Commission and Imagine Ireland, and which begins with a concert, 24 April 2011 at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin and then tours to four cities in the United States of America. The new music::new Ireland salon series aims to encourage newcomers and enthusiasts alike to engage with the music of Irish Composers. Each performance takes place in an informal atmosphere with dialogue encouraged between composers, performers and audience.
