The Contemporary Music Centre announces Fidelio Trio USA Debut Tour 21st Feb - 1st March 2011

Internationally recognised as one of the most exciting piano trios with diverse and arresting programming this US tour, supported by Culture Ireland as part of Imagine Ireland – a year-long season of Irish arts in America in 2011 - features world and US premieres by Irish composers: Gerald Barry, Ed Bennett, Linda Buckley, Raymond Deane, Donnacha Dennehy, Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin and Ian Wilson. From the UK, Michael Nyman and from the US, American composers Evan Ziporyn, Charles Wuorinen, Laura Kaminsky, Erik Lund and Arlene Sierra.

Ireland's Fidelio Trio, Darragh Morgan – Violin, Robin Michael – Cello, Mary Dullea – Piano have performed at London's Wigmore Hall, Casa da Musica, Porto, Shanghai's Oriental Arts Centre and on tour throughout Europe, Hong Kong and South Africa. They broadcast regularly for BBC Radio 3 and have released numerous CDs on NMC, Delphian Records, Naxos and MN Records.

Particularly lauded for their performances of new music, they have worked with many diverse composers, in particular Michael Nyman, Toshio Hosokawa, Gerald Barry and Johannes Maria Staud. The Fidelio Trio will perform twice at Symphony Space, New York City, as part of their Music of Now Marathon and Salon Series, MIT Boston, SUNY New Paltz and University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

The Contemporary Music Centre is Ireland's national archive, resource centre and promotional body for new music, supporting the work of Irish composers from the Republic and Northern Ireland. The Centre is supported by the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
