The Contemporary Music Centre Celebrates Culture Night 2006

30 August 2006

The Contemporary Music Centre is part of Culture Night, 22 September 2006! With a programme of indoor and outdoor sound installations and live electronic music, this is an opportunity for all the family to interact with new music in an innovative way.

At 6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm the band, LouReedsBrain, will play three live electronic sets in the Centre's premises in Fishamble Street, Dublin. Complete with an interactive control surface, audience members can join in on all the fun!

"The perfect rock star would have Iggy Pop's body and Lou Reed's Brain" said David Bowie. An inspiring quote in 1989 for Richard Duckworth and Brian Bridges and their new band. LouReedsBrain is a music group based in Dublin that plays electronic and acoustic musical instruments.

Three programmes of indoor and outdoor sound installations as well as indoor video projections will take place. Included are works by recent graduates from Trinity College, Dublin; the Old City New Music 2006 commissions and the ReJoyce in Music 2004 commissions by CMC. See attached programme.

All events are free and unticketed and are part of Dublin Culture Night 2006 -- late night fun for all the family. Involving over 40 different cultural institutions throughout the city of Dublin, Culture Night is coordinated by Temple Bar Cultural Trust, in association with the Council of National Cultural Institutions of Ireland. www.templebar.ie
