Raymond Deane Interview

Dublin, 15 May 2003

Raymond Deane, composer, pianist and author will be in conversation with Ben Dwyer, composer, guitarist and Artistic Director of the Bank of Ireland Mostly Modern Series. The interview will take place from 6.30 – 7.30 3 June 2003. Admission is free but booking is required.

From 1974 to 1979 Deane studied with Gerald Bennett, Karlheinz Stockhausen and the late Isang Yun. In addition to many performances in Ireland his works have been represented at numerous international festivals including the festival L’Imaginaire Irlandais, the ISCM World Music Days and the International Rostrum of Composers. He is recorded on the Black Box and Marco Polo labels and has been a member of Aosdána since 1986. His ensemble work Seachanges is currently on the Leaving Certificate Music Curriculum.
