Feldenkrais Method and Music

Dublin, 9 April 2003

A talk and demonstration by flautist and Feldenkrais practitioner Sabine Volkmann from 6.00 – 7.30 on Tuesday 22 April 2003 in the CMC Library. Admission is free but booking is required.

Sabine Volkmann will discuss the theoretical and practical aspects of the Feldenkrais movement method and show how musicians and singers can benefit. The Feldenkrais Method uses gentle, non-straining movement exercises to raise awareness of limiting patterns of movement and posture, resulting in more ease, efficiency and integration of movement. The method can help with symptoms such as repetitive strain injury, back, neck and shoulder strains, and improves breathing and the quality of music performance.
