Autumn Events at CMC

Dublin, 17 October 2002

After a Summer break through July and August the CMC monthly talks series resumed this Autumn with a very special event on 24 September 2002. To celebrate Irish composer James Wilson’s 80th birthday a very special interview took place with TV producer Anne Makower. A wine reception in the CMC library followed a very stimulating conversation that was enjoyed by many.

The career-oriented talks in the series will continue throughout the Autumn and Winter. On 19 November a very practical talk will take place with Paula Curran of Coda Music Technology giving a demonstration of Sibelius music software. On 6 and 7 December, in conjunction with the Up North festival of contemporary music, two talks will take place on the musical life both artistic and practical of Ireland and the Nordic Countries.

All events take place in the CMC Library and admission is free. Due to limited space, places should be booked in advance with Karen Hennessy, Promotion Manager, tel. 01-673 1922 or email khennessy@cmc.ie.

These events are made possible by the continued support of The Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon.

The Contemporary Music Centre is based in Dublin’s Cultural Quarter, Temple Bar. Located in the heart of the capital city, Temple Bar is home to more than fifty arts and cultural organizations. To find out more, check out the Temple Bar Cultural Calendar www.templebar.ie.
