New CD Release
Contemporary Music from Ireland Volume Three

The Contemporary Music Centre is delighted to announce the release of its third promotional CD, Contemporary Music from Ireland Volume Three.
This CD was launched on 9 April 2001 by Mr Patrick Murphy, Chairman of the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon, at the official opening of the Contemporary Music Centre’s new premises by Irish President Mary McAleese. This ‘musical calling card’ provides a stimulating introduction to the work of Irish composers. It offers a varied selection of recent works by some of our most active and interesting composers, played by leading Irish and international performers, including the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, Concorde and the Crawford Piano Trio.
According to writer and broadcaster, Michael Dungan, Contemporary Music from Ireland Volume Three is ‘a CD which presents a considerable diversity of style and personality’.
The Contemporary Music Centre is Ireland’s national archive and resource centre for new music. This CD is a promotional project of the Centre and is the third of a series, made possible by generous funding from the Arts Council/An Chomhairle Ealaíon.
The CD will be distributed nationally and internationally to radio stations, media, music publications, record companies, performers and concert promoters. All of the tracks can be broadcast and interviews can be arranged with the composers, performers and director of the CMC, Eve O’Kelly. The distribution of the CD to Embassies world-wide has been made possible through the generous support of the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs.
