The Society for Musicology in Ireland (SMI) and the Royal Musical Association (RMA) joint conference takes place at the RIAM, Dublin, from 9 to 12 July 2009.

The conference gathers together leading acacemics from throughout the British Isles and internationally, and includes many papers of relevance to contemporary Irish music.

The distinguished scholar Professor Kofi Agawu (Princeton University) is the recipient of the 2009 SMI's Frank Ll. Harrison Medal, and will deliver his lecture after the presentation on Friday, 10 July.

Professor Carolyn Abbate (University of Pennsylvania) will deliver the RMA's Peter Le Huray Memorial Lecture on Saturday 11 July.

The Contemporary Music Centre will be present with a staffed information stand during the conference.
