Deane's Seachanges for 20 Guitars The Diversus Guitar Ensemble plays a new version of Deane's Seachanges. The Diversus Guitar Ensemble directed by Brendan Walsh and led by Swiss guitarist Raoul Morat has developed a version of Raymond Deane's Seachanges (with Danse Macabre) for 20 guitars. Diversus, which is in its seventh year, uses various types of instrument including soprano and bass guitars as well as classial and steel string guitars. Other unusual repertoire which it has developed includes arrangements of Mozart and Haydn symphonies, Vivaldi concertos, and songs by Neil Young, Björk and Led Zeppelin. Works by Irish composers include David Stalling, Victor Lazzarini and Martin O'Leary.
Their upcoming concert tour from November 5-8, which is supported by the Arts Council, includes a new work for guitar orchestra by Piaras Hoban chosen following a 'call for scores' run in conjunction with CMC.
