NUIM Composition Symposium

The music department of NUI Maynooth hosts an international composition symposium on 1 and 2 May.

Featuring papers by composers Donnacha Dennehy, Jane O'Leary, Kevin O'Connell and Fred Desena, there will also be a keynote address by John Buckley.

Eve O’Kelly, CMC’s director, will give a presentation on the Contemporary Music Centre’s Digitisation Project, a collaborative project with the music departments of NUIM, DKIT and SPCD as part of the research consortium An Foras Feasa to digitise music scores and sound recordings from its library for online access.

The symposium will also host four masterclasses offering young composers the opportunity to work with top-class performers including the Crash Ensemble.

Registration form and schedule from the NUIM Music Department web site. Further information: Emma O’Halloran, NUIM, email emma.ohalloran@nuim.ie.
