    
   
Three Composers Accepted for Representation
CMC is very happy to welcome Sid Peacock, David Bremner and Peter Rosser as composers recently accepted for representation.

Norman 'Sid' Peacock (1970 -) was born in Bangor, Co Down and works actively as a composer, producer and educator. He is artistic director for Birmingham Jazz's education project, leads regular workshops for Birmingham Contemporary Music Group and was composer in residence for Cheltenham Festival's Jazz It Up project 2009. In addition to working with his own ensemble, Surge, he is planning to present a new larger ensemble in 2010.
He has been awarded a composer residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris for 3 months and also, as vocalist/narrator and guitarist, performs as the voice of Steve Troman's Beat Series, narrating major works of the Beat Generation at poetry and jazz festivals throughout Europe. |

David Bremner (1977- ) is a composer, organist and pianist based in Dublin. Having composed since an early age, he commenced formal study with Richard Baker while at Oxford. Later, he studied composition and electronic music with experimental Austrian polymath Karl Stirner, and has attended masterclasses with Michael Finnissy, Christopher Fox and Boguslaw Schaeffer. He is currently completing a Ph.D in Composition at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama under the supervision of Gráinne Mulvey.
In 2007 David Bremner was one of seven young composers invited to Seefeld in the Austrian Tirol to participate in the festival avantgarde tirol. As a member of the Irish Composers' Collective, he has had works performed by, amongst others, Prey trio, soprano Elizabeth Hilliard, and Ensemble ICC. As a recitalist David is dedicated to creating innovative recitals that explore the hugely varied repertoire that is currently emerging. |

Peter Rosser (1970 - ) was born in London and moved to Belfast in 1990. He studied at the University of Ulster with David Morris, where he was awarded a DPhil in composition in 1997. His music has been featured at the Spitalfields Festival in London, the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Belfast Festival at Queen's, Between the Lines Literary Festival, the Dartington International Summer School and the Crash Festival in Dublin. Perfomers of his music include Irvine Arditti, Mieko Kanno, the Composers' Ensemble, the Ulster Orchestra and Concorde.
Recent projects in Belfast included 'Dead Body', a sell-out 'piano recital with domestic lighting' at the recently renovated Gasworks Meter House and Pied (Five Irish Songs) at the world famous crime fiction bookstore, 'No Alibis'. Peter is a founding director of 'Fresh Meat', an occasional series of performance art happenings in Belfast. |
