CMC presents an evening of music, conversation and refreshments as part of Midsummer in Temple Bar on 20 June 2009.

As well as playing and discussing contemporary Irish works from the library collection inspired by Midsummer, mezzo-soprano Laura Murphy will perform a number of songs by Irish composers. Laura is a first year undergraduate student studying for her BA in Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music. She has been very active over the last number of years winning many competitions including the Vincent O'Brien Cup, the Denis O'Sullivan Medal and the Marchant Cup (for duet) at the 2009 ESB Feis Ceoil competition.

Music for Midsummer takes place from 6.00 pm - 7.30 pm on 20 June 2009 in the CMC library. Admission is free but booking is advised. For further information on other Midsummer events please visit www.templebar.ie.
