Works by three Irish composers were heard in Bucharest on 7 December.

The Romanian group Ensemble Profil gave the premiere of Slow Burn by Ed Bennett, which was commissioned by the Ireland Romania Cultural Foundation. Working in conjunction with CMC, the Foundation has funded a residency for Ed Bennett during 2009, enabling him to work with leading Romanian composer Dan Dediu.

The concert also included Jane O'Leary's Sunshowers and John McLachlan's Leaves Loose, as well as works by Romanian composers Vlad Maistorovici and Dan Dediu.

The performance was attended by the Irish Ambassador, H.E. Mr John Morahan, shown here with composers Jane O'Leary and Ed Bennett. Thanks to funding from Culture Ireland CMC's director, Eve O'Kelly, also travelled to Bucharest.
