         
Hilltown New Music Festival 2009 The Hilltown New Music Festival takes place on 18 and 19 July 2009. This international 'boutique festival' of contemporary music, sonic and visual installations, film screenings, workshops and talks takes place around the medieval castle keep in the grounds of Hilltown House, Castlepollard, Co.Westmeath. With backing from the Arts Council, RTÉ lyric fm, the ACNI Lottery fund, the Romanian Cultural Institute, Westmeath County Council and others, it features an enterprising line-up of composers, performers and visual artists. Featured artists this year include Dan Dediu (Romania), Barbara Lüneburg (Ger/NL), Marko Ciciliani (Croatia), Henry Vega (USA/NL), Ed Bennett (NI), Anat Spiegel (Israel), Nick Ward (Irl/NI), Tom Davis (NI), Diana Rotaru (Romania), Ana Chifu (Romania), Victor Lazzarini (Brazil/Irl), Gráinne Mulvey (Irl), Joe O'Farrell (Irl), Anthony Kelly & David Stalling (Irl/Ger), Ear Ensemble (Irl), Jami Byrne (Irl), Bryan Quigley (Irl), Lioba Petrie (Irl) and Antonio Cafolla (Irl).
