Frank Corcoran has received a commission from RTÉ to compose a clarinet quintet.

The work will be premiered in 2010 by the RTÉ Vanbrugh String Quartet. His newly commissioned octet, Quasi una Sarabande, will be premiered by the Swedish Antipodes Ensemble in Berne, Zürich and Basle on June 19, 20 and 21. Swiss Radio DRS will record the premiere.

In October, his Quasi un Preludio for solo violin will be premiered by Darragh Morgan in a concert run by the Contemporary Music Centre at Kings Place, London.

On 19 January 2010 a portrait concert with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra under Colman Pearce will include the new Vier Orchesterlieder and also a new violin concerto.
