CMC Hosts IAMIC Conference 2010

Dublin

The Contemporary Music Centre hosts the next IAMIC conference in Dublin in June 2010.

The International Association of Music Information Centres (IAMIC) is a worldwide network of organisations that document and promote the music of our time. IAMIC, of which CMC is the Irish member, currently supports the work of 41 member organisations in 38 countries.

While each Music Information Centre focuses on the promotion of musical activities in its own country or region, IAMIC works to promote international exchange on issues of common concern and brings its member organisations together for collective projects.

Every year, IAMIC organises a major conference hosted in a different member country. As well as presentations on key topics by international guest speakers, these conferences offer the opportunity for professional networking and development, and are often the starting point for new cross-border collaborative projects.

Next year's meeting hosted by CMC takes place from Wednesday 9 to Saturday 12 June 2010 in Dublin. In addition to working sessions for the member organisations, the conference features a one-day public symposium on Friday, 11 June, at which high-level Irish and international speakers will explore key issues of concern within the music business.

Further information and registration details for delegates and observers will be available shortly.
