Bodley Mass for Westminster Cathedral

Seóirse Bodley
Seóirse Bodley

The first performance of a new Mass by Seóirse Bodley takes place in Westminster Cathedral this month.

His Missa Brevis in Angustiis (2009) will be performed by the Dublin Choral Foundation's children's choir, Piccolo Lasso, conducted by Ite O'Donovan, with accompaniment by a cathedral organist.

The title, which means 'A short mass in time of trouble' is reflected in the dedication of the Mass 'to the memory of children who have suffered.' This is the second time that Piccolo Lasso have been invited to sing in the Cathedral, which is renowned for the high standards of its music.

The Mass takes place on Saturday, 24 October at 6.00pm in London's Westminster Cathedral.
