New Zealand Premiere for Jennifer Walshe

A leading chamber group is to give a first performance in New Zealand of music by Jennifer Walshe in June.

Founded in 2000 and acclaimed by local critics, Stroma is to include Walshe’s unbreakable line. hinged waist in a concert of ‘Chamber Music With Bite’ at the Ilott Concert Theatre, Wellington on Friday 23 June.

Originally composed for ensemble recherche in 2002, Walshe’s work will be heard alongside music by Xenakis, Sciarrino, Tansy Davies and native-born composers Gareth Farr and John Psathas.
