Sundays at Noon Series
The Sundays at Noon concert series at the Hugh Lane Gallery, Dublin includes concerts of Raymond Deane and Seóirse Bodley's music during April. On 13 April the series features a concert of Raymond Deane’s music for flute and piano performed by flautist William Dowdall and pianist David Adams. Dowdall and Adams are performing Deane's Epilogue, Linos 1, Spring Leaves and Ventalia, as well as other contemporary pieces. To coincide with the launch of the publication of Seóirse Bodley's Song cycles to the Poetry of Micheal O'Siadhail by Carysfort Press, soprano Sylvia O’Brien will join the composer in performances of The Earlsfort Suite, Squall and The Naked Flame on 20 April. This performance also marks the celebration of Bodley’s 75th birthday. Contemporary music ensemble Concorde perform the final concert of the month on 27 April, which features a new work by Slovenian composer Nina Senk before their visit to the Unicum festival in Llubljana in May. The performance will feature three Concorde commissions by Irish composers: Trane by Stephen Gardner, In the Adriatic by Elaine Agnew and The Light Gleams by Frank Corcoran.
